C tission ' Children, REPUBLICAN ROW ON f ' - ? | The following dispatch from Spartanburg will be read with'interest; I A Republican convention was held j here today, attended by thirty-five j of forty mor or less prominent leaders of the party from various sec- j tions of the State. The meeting was} called by J. D. Adams, it was said, atj the request of the national cojnmittee, for the purpose of discussing the j condition of the party in this State, j Chas. W. Harmori, State chairman j for Virginia, and G. W. Bean, member of the national committee from Florida, were present and made! speeches. They said the national j leaders were sick of the party organization in this state and wanted i an organization that could command respect. L. W. Blalock of Greenville, was present and made a talk, saying the curse of the party in South Carolina in recent years had been one-man rule, and blamed J. W. Tolbert and his adherents for the present condition of things. Another meeting will be held in Columbia on Monday, it 'was announced and similar meetings will be held in the near future in other sections of the State. It was announced that the national committee had appointed J. D. Adams as financial agent in South Carolina, and that he alone will be authorized to collect and dis-1 burse funds during the coming campaign. There seems to be a well defined movement on foot, with the backir!" of the national committee, to oust V/. Tolbert, of Greenwood county from the Slr.ie leadership.
