[auses for the violation of the law ^ reating the State Board of Fisherjs in 1917, and regulating the ap- ^ ointment of four inspectors, has een signed by Governor Cooper. ^ he act becomes effective at once. ^ Governor Cooper held up the act or a considerable time because of tie conflict in section 2, regarding^ ae appointment of the four inspec)rs of the board. The paragraph jj mending the original law provides [>r their appointment on the recom- ^ lendation of the Senators from the ounties from which they are ap- e ointed, and the section as amended g rovides for a recommendation of a lajority of the delegation. The con- s i*/>f ie irrprnn<nlAhle and the Statei upreme Court probably will have to j j ive it judicial interpretation. It is q robable that the board of fisheries: ill appoints its four inspectors with j ut a recommendation, in view of j lie conflict, and this possibly will *ke it into the courts. v > Fire At Lauren*. > Laurens, April 29.?Laurens had > spectacular fire Sunday afternoon, ^ rhen five cottages on Rich Hill were estroyed.
