WOODWARD Our last issue had an account of he death of private Eugene D. Voodward, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. V. T. Sanders, of Route 4, Abbeille, S. C. Since then Mr. Lewis i tamey, of this jcity, a brother of Irs. Sanders, has brought to our ffice the letter received from the British soldier, who found the body f the young man. Beacham was stricken vith paralysis at his office in the losenberg Building Saturday afterloon at about four o'clock. He was aken home immediately. When the loctor arrived he was founds to be mconscious, and he has never ralied. His entire right side is affected, and he is unaHe to take nedicine or nourishment. Unless ;here is a change at once, whicn is lot looked for, he cannot live many lours. Mr. Beacham has been in the con;racting business in Abbeville for nany years. He is well known not inly in Abb^ille but in the surrounding counties where he has erected many ouiicungs 01 one Kina md .another. Members of the family are at his jedside, his sons having arrived Sunday and Monday to be with him ind their mother. DR. WHITE MARRIES. x Dr. Bonner White and Miss Brickman were married Monday in Baltimore at the home of the bride. The voung couple will go to Atlantic City for a short stay after which they will come to Abbeville arriving here Friday. During their stay here they will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. White on Greenville street. Dr. White is recovering from a serious illness of pneumonia and gets a longer leave than at first hoped for. His friends congratulate him on his marriage and look forward with pleasure to meeting his wife. COLORED CHURCH. There will be services at Flat Rock A. M. E. Church next Sunday, 11th inst. M. G. The house had been made love for the occasion, many beautif vases of roses and chrysanthemur being used. The ceremony was performed the parlor and here -an altar h? been made of ferns and the hapj couple stood while the impress^ ceremony was performed by Re H. Waddell Pratt, assisted by Dr. ] B. Kennedy, of Due West. Mrs. H. Frank Magee, of Spa tanburg, an aunt of the bride, w< matron of honor, and little Sara Baker McCoy, of Charlotte, N. C was the ring bearer. Mr.- Kennedy was attended by h friend, Mr. Joe Little, as best mai The ring ceremony was used. The bride wore a handsome su of navy blue with hat to mate and wore a corsage bouquet c brides' roses. Mrs. Magee wore a field mous geogette crepe and her corsage boi quet was of pink Killarney rose The little ring bearer wore a whil hand embroidered lingerie with blue taffeta hat and carried the rin in the heart of a rose. Edmunds announce the marriage of the daughter Frances Brunson to Mr. Charles Harriman Martin of Houston, Texas, Saturday, Nov. 2, 1918, in New Orleans, La.
