Mrs. Douglass and two children of Columbia, is spending several weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baskin. Mr. Willie Broadwell has accepted the agency here for Briscoe cars. He made a trip to Charlotte recently and drove one of these cars back. Since then he has received a shipment of several cars for sale. Mr. Orr Clinkscales was in Anderson last week and invested in a ' Chevrolet touring car while there. Mrs. E. W. Harper Jr., is visiting relatives in Greenwood. NO FIREMAN'S CONVENTION. Chief C. B. Beaudrot has received notice from President Louis Behrens that the annual Fireman's Convention will not be held in Bishopville this year. It has been postponed for patriotic reasons. It is felt that the firemen can serve best by remaining on guard just at this time in their respective towns and second the railroads are so heavily taxed with traffic that all possible relief should be given them.
