Miss Clifford Beckum of McCormick, spent the week-end in the city the guest of Miss Benie Watson. Miss Eugenia Coleman spent Wednesday in Due West with Miss Ruth McLane and Miss Virginia Galloway. Miss Esther Graydon leaves this I week for Brenau College, where she will visit with her old college friends. Russell Lawson came up from Columbia and spent Sunday with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. J. Misses Dot and Lina Evans, two of the bright young school teachers of the county, were in the city trading Saturday. R. H. Kay went over to Calhoun Falls and spent Sunday with friends. He says it is a good place to spend the day. Mrs. J. M. Ogilvie and children went down to Columbia last Thursday and spent until Sunday with her mother. W. J. Bryson is at home after an extended visit through the west. He had a fine time and likes the westerners. The Bridge <jiud was eiuci vainvu most pleasantly last Friday at the home of Miss Plevna Seal. Wilson and Mr. S. J. Link went out to "Maplehurst," the home of the Wilson family, and spent the day Sunday. Miss Gladys Thomson has returned to her home in Pell City, Ala., after a pleasant visit to her sister, Mrs. Foster Barnwell on Greenville St. Mrs. Albert Power came down from Brownlees Saturday and spent the day with Mrs. J. L. McMillan. She was accompanied by her young son, Richard. Carroll Swetenberg was in the city Sunday and Monday. He came up from Augusta and spent the time with his parents. Saturday was a busy day in the city, many peoiple in from the country trading with our merchants and getting ready to start their crops. Mrs. C. H. McMurray is going over to Greenwood this week, where she will spend some time with her brother, Dr. John Lyon. Miss Ruth Howie and little Miss Elizabeth Howie accompanied their father to Atlanta last Monday and spent several days in the city visit ing and taking in tne signts. Mr. and Mrs. Olin Brownlee were down from Due West Monday. Mrs. Brownlee was awarded the automobile in the Medium contest and she received the car and rode home in it. He paid a visit to the State Hospital for the Insane and expressed himself as much pleased with the institution. { 1 Young Edward Harden had the 5 misfortune to break his leg last Wed- 1 nesday while wrestling at the school j house during the play hour.
