Mr. Hugh Wilson of Abbeville was here on Thursday, and paid a call at The Daily Mail office, but the editor was out on Savannah river helping to build a bridge over that stream, and greatly regrets missing seeing our old friend. Mr. Wilson is one of the finest old gentlemen that ever lived, and for a half century or so was engaged in the newspaper business at Abbeville, and retired from business , several years ago. Ee has always been an independent thinker, and while his views have oftsn been in the minority, he has commanded the respect of those who differ with him.
