Mrs. John Pressly and children will return today from Kanapolis, I N. C., where they have been spending several weeks. Mr. S. C. Johnson spent Thanksgiving in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Smith, of Verdery, spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Smith's parents, at the Due West Hotel. Erskine Items. Messrs W. K. McGill, J. L. Bigham and W. S. Reid, alumni of Erskine; Messrs J. B. McGill, T. J. Balton and Miss Ruth Williams, former students, were visitors on Erskine campus last week. "Turkey Day" in Erskine dormitory has come and gone again. The fine turkey dinner was something long to be remembered. Erskine foot ball team played Horner on Erskine grounds on Thanksgiving Day. This game closed the Erskine season. The score was a tie?6 to 6. Interest and enthusiasm ran high throughout the game. Nothing like it has ever been played on our grounds. This was Erskine's first year in foot ball, but she has shown that she has the "stuff" to put out a winner next year. At the Student body meeting Saturday morning, a purse of $25 was presented to Coach Lamott, as a token of appreciation and love the students all have for him. Many speeches of regret on account of his leaving were made. He won the heart of every man in college while here. Again the boys of Erskine were forced to forget their troubles and give themselves up to a happy two hours by the Wiley Home girls, who closed the pleasures of Thanksgiving with the "memorable mirth of a Mylie Soiree." Messrs Monte McDaniel and C. M. Boyd were elected to represent the Philomathaen Literary Society as Sophomore deciaimers in the semi-annual celebration.
