Rich Hill Items Two Estimable Citizens Cele- . brate their 68th BirthdayHappy Family Reunions. Reported for The News: There was a surprise family reunion at the home of Mr. T. .J. Reeves on the 7th instant, by his children, irrand children o.-?a friends. At least it was a sur prise to Mr. Reeves himself, for he was preparing to leave home on a business trip when his fami ly let him into the secret, lie ol course remained, and showed his appreciation of the thought fulness ot his relatives and Iriends by the hospitable manner in which he entertained his guests when they arrived. The occasion was the celebra tion ot Mr. Reeves's 68lh birthday. At noon a bountiful dinnor was spread?so bountilul that enough was left after the feast to have fed as many more. The elegant meal, as well as the entire day, was thoroughly onjoyed by all present. On the 9th instant there was another happy family reunion in our community. This one was at the home of Mr. J. A. P. Blaokmon, and the occasion was the celebration of his 63th birthday also. Owing to the inclemency of the weather as many / were uor, preseut as otherwise would have been. A goodly number were in attendance how ever?children and grand children and friends. Among the visitors was our worthy school , teacher, Miss Jerusha Mitchell. It was a great day for both old * and young. Those two men, Messrs. X- J* Reeves and J. A. P. Blaekmon, 1 I as well as Messrs. J. It. Knight, R. M. Kirk, N. E. Rabertson, J. S. Blaekmon and O. H. Mehaffey, are Rich Hill's old landmarks. A. Visitor. Cutting Scrape in Rock Hill. A Mr. Simmons, loom fixer at tne Victoria Mill, was right seriously cut by Jim Hammonds, an 1 other employe ot the mill, last s Saturday night. The two men fell out in the store of S. W. Plyler at the mill and it is allesr ed that Simmons knocked Ham- 1 moods down and when the latter arose he attacked Simmons with his knife, stabbing him in the shoulder and in tho back of his head. The most serious cut, however, was on the side of his face and extending down across his throat. Several small arteries were severed and when Simmons came up town shortly after the cutting he was bleeding pro^ fusely from the wound in his neck and throat. He was attend- 1 ed by Dr. J. L. Massey, Jr., and ' it. is thought that ho will get M aioiig all right.?Hock liill Her1 aljl. $100.00 Reward. OUIt NF.W DISCOVERY MEDICINE . COMPANY of Laurens, 8.
