Textile Group Seeks New Labeling Law A national coalition representing the U.S. fiber, textile and apparel industry has called for passage of a new labeling law to provide the consumer with clear information as to country of origin when purchasing textile and apparel products. Current law requires that imported textile and apparel products carry a country of origin label but there is no such requirement for textile or apparel products made in the United States.
