WEDNESDAY MORNING. OCT. 22. The Herald Bulletin. We present our little BULLETIN to the members of the Newberry Agricul tural and Mechanical Society, visitors and citizens generally, as an aid to the success of this our Second Annual Fair, distributing it free to all in the hope tha it willserve the purpose intended, and prove of interest. It will be issned each morning of the E%nibition and w.ill contain as much of each day's doings as we can squeeze into so limited a spaoe. Believing that it will be ap preciated we send it on its mission. The indications to-night as we go to press are that we will have a wet tine, but the people of Newberry will not let that dampen their ardor, as they intend to make the Fair a success. A large crowd is expected to be out to-day of those '-who never mind the weather so the wind don't blow." The Secretary of the Newberry Agricultural and Mechanical Society is a model of patience and industry. Through all the confusion, annoyances and hard work of his position he pur sues placidly the even tenor of his way, always as serene as a clear May morn. The Exhibition Building is a neat and substautial structure ; its dimen sions are 75x52, with two piazzas 75 x12. The timbers are very large, and you couldn't break it down if yon were to pack people in it from floors to ceil ing-so there's no danger of a catas trophe. We hear farmers say that they would like to do their trading here at home, but can't because they can get more for -cotton at road side stations. Is this true-and who is responsible for it? The Committee has 206 premiums in silver and over 8300 in money to be distributed as prizes at the County Fair. Don't let the wet weather 'deter you from going to the Fair Grounds; you can be as comfortable there as any where. A visit to the Fair Grounds late yes terday evening showed that the articles oa exhibition in the dliferent depart ments are of a superior ebaracter. The music by the Newherry Band will add greatly~ to the pleasures of the Fair. The owners' names will not appear upon the articles exhibited; they will be designated by numbers. There have been about scee hun dred entries for the Fair. THESPIAN HALL. GALA WEEK! Two Nights I Wednesday and Thursday.
