Outdated stickers on FIVE POINTS parking meters listed monitored hours as 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but Columbia’s Parking Services Department is changing hours of operation to begin at 11 a.m. That’s two extra hours for visiting your favorite tobacconist and/or occult magazine shop. ♦ Traffic on Tuesday in front of Food Lion in FIVE POINTS was snarled to one lane in each direction. This might be a blessing in disguise, however, as pulling out of Food Lion’s parking lot has never been easier. Just ask the lines of traffic stalled behind a backhoe. ♦ No more reports of the 1200 BLOCK OF MAIN STREET. Just live your life, eat your vegetables and one day the road will reopen. ♦ Businesses remain open in the aforementioned sections. Obey the construction area speed limit (25 mph) and don’t park illegally, folks. CENTRAL BARK LAURA-JOYCE GOUGH/THE GAMECOCK Landscaping crews on Tuesday replaced the bark in campus flower beds.
