IDie (Samecock — BE? ' - Mi University 1 Wednesday, August 23 • Seized Property, Bates House. A res ident adviser on routine patrol thought she smelled marijuana and called the po lice. When police arrived at the resi dent’s room and after a brief search they found a glass pipe. The resident told po lice that she had smoked marijuana in it before, but had not smoked from it in some time. The RA on the scene wrote ■ . _ _ the resident up and said housing would take care of the incident. The police took the pipe for evidence. Reporting officers on the scene was C.B. Williams. Monday, August 21 • Non-criminal Mischief. Patterson Hall 1520 Devine St., victims stated, that while they were gone, a unknown per son or persons entered their room and left personal items in their closet and bathroom and then the unknown person (s) left their room. Investigation con tinues into how and why would some one leave personal items inside some one else’s room. Officer C.B Williams y •reported to this incident about 8 a.m. Sunday, August 20 • Larceny of Flags, 902 Sumter St. (Horseshoe), while on routine patrol at 4:30 a.m., Officer A.L Johnson observed that some unknown person (s) removed the South Carolina state flag and Amer ican flag from a flagpole located on the Horseshoe. Estimated values of the flags are $40 each. Saturday, August 19 • Missing Inventory, Woodrow College 1415 Greene Street, complainant stat ed that following items went missing from the common area and lobby: a VCR, a fax machine, a cordless phone and an answering machine. The complainant was unsure of the value, the makes, the models or the serial numbers of the miss ing items. Police are still investigating and at this time there are no suspects. • Malicious Injury to Real Property, Moore College 601 Sumter St., com plainant states that unknown individu als used markers to write the following "CHI PSI" with the initials "J.A.H" and "A.B" followed by "03" which police believe is the year of graduation of the suspects, on a wall. University main tenance personel painted over the mark ings after university police took pictures for evidence purposes. The police asked « Greek Life to fax a copy of CHI PSI members with the above initials. Esti mated damaged to the wall is $50, and the police investigation continues. Friday, August 18 • Larceny of Money, Preston College Green Street, victims stated unknown person (s) removed below items from her unlocked room about 6:30 p.m., ap proximately $25 cash (unknown de nominations), an American Express Card (unknown account number) and a Candler Credit Union Card (ATM card also unknown account number). Police had no suspects and the investigation continues. •Grand Larceny of a Motorcycle, 1312 Pendleton Street Cl parking lot. Victim stated that an unknown person (s) by un known means removed his 1986 Kawasa ki Ninja motorcycle form the parking lot around 1:00 a.m. The bike is described as red with black on the left side. There are no suspects in the case and the bike has been missing since last Friday. City of Columbia Sunday, August 20 • Counterfeit Money, Failure to Pay Cabfare, 2510 Laurel Street. The com plainant, Marion Blackett of Dumont Street, came into Police Headquarters at #1 Justice Square and brought one counterfeit $100 bill which was placed in the property room. The unidentified suspect still owes $80 in cab fare to Blue Ribbon Cab Co. Saturday, August 19 • Malicious Injury to Personal Proper ty, 1-277 at Broad Street. The victim, Michael Ginsbeig of Pittsbuigh, PA, was driving on 1-277 when an unknown sus pect dropped an unknown object from the bridge of Broad Street onto the north bound lane of 277. The object struck the front windshield of the vehicle caus ing it to crack on the left side. Friday, August 18 • Burglary, Grand Larceny, "Added Di mensions," 800 Bush River Road. Com plainant, Mary D. McNeil, reported that an unknown suspect(s) threw a laige rock ( through a front window of800 Bush Riv er Road to gain entry. Once inside, suspect(s) removed several dresses and fled the scene. Reporting officer: D.X. Hicks. Estimated value and damages: window, $200; clothing, $5,456. Thursday, August 17 • Found Contraband, West Campanella Street. While en route to a noise com plaint, an officer noticed a plastic bag in the middle of the street and picked it up.
