sudent TneJJage MEN AND WOMEN OF CAROLINA: The Student Union Dance and Concert Committee has scheduled one of the most outstanding Dance and Concert programs in this na tion for your enjoyment this fall. In order to bring you this high caliber entertainment it was neces sary to establish a minimal charge for some of the major performs ances. The entire student activity program, including Student Senate, Student Union, Publications, and other student organization pro grams, are limited in funds. This is due to the small portion of the University Fee allocated to the above groups. Sufficient funds are not available to bring the students of Carolina the quality programs to which they are entitled. The complete program of four dances and four concerts will cost each student attending only eight dol lars. We feel that these charges are fair and necessary until some provision is made which will make available sufficient funds for all of your student organizations to operate an effective and complete program for you, the Carolina Stu dent. "Mrs. Durant had the finest qualities that we expect of a residence hall director," said Dean of Women Elizabeth Clotworthy. "Besides being efficient, she pos sessed patience and understanding. "In other words, she had a per sonnel point of view, which is sensitivity to the feelings of others and a sincere desire to help them," continued Dean Clotworthy. "We shall miss her greatly."
