ARROW CLUB, GETS CHARTER Many Prominent Members of National Body Assisted in Installation The Arrow Club of the University of South Carolina has been granted a charter in the Phi Kappa Sigma fra ternity and was installed as a chapter of the national organization on March 9. The Arrow Club is one of the oldest social clubs on the campus and was in existence several years before the anti-fraternity law was repealed. The club numbers among its alumni many prominent young South Carolin ians. Contrary to the general rule be fore fraternities were re-admitted mo the University, the Arrow Club was one of the few social organizations maintaining a club house. The South Carolina chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma is known as Alpha Eta chapter, the club having be: granted permission to revive the chap ter that was in existence at the College of Charleston from 1901 to 1905, after its members found they would no longer be able to keep the chapter up to the standard of the fraternity because of scarcity of material at the college brought about by the limited enroll ment.
