'IGHTING CONTAGIOUS DIS EASE. One of the great losses of commu ity life occurs through contagious iseases. Not to speak of the sor ow and suffering caused by these icknesses, there is a large econo nic loss. There are doctors and urses and hospital and medicine ills, and alas undertaker's fees. It is wise to adopt extensive prne 'entative measures to head off these courges before they get a hold iin ny community. He estimates that say rig in money cost in that state rould be $1,000,000. With the cost f disease and death so heavy, it eems shortsighted for any state or ommunity to stint on health mea
