She eaves two daughters, Miss Mar tie McBtirney and Mrps. 0. W. W~hiteead, both of Opelika, Ma. Her remains were interred n the city cemetery Suday at 3 p. m. Mrs. Mcl~irney was raised four iles north of Winnsboro on the linten place, and afterwards moved to Winnsboro and ran the Winusboro hotel with her brother, Thomas Mlinton. She later moved to Columabia and from there to Colmbus, Ga., from which point sh calme to Opelika, Hcrs was a Cbistian life. On the day of election the Managers mist organize by the election of a Chair ian and a Clerk, if necessary. The :hairman elected is empowered to ad iinister oaths. The Managers have the power to fill nly vacancy, and if none of the Man gers atternd, the citizens can appoint romn among the qualified voters the Ianagers, who, after being sworn, can oiduct the election. At the close of the election the Man gers and Clerk must proceed publicly >open the ballot boxes and count the allots therein, and continue without ad ournmnent until the same is completed, nd make a statement of the result. Within three days thereafter, the hairman of the Board, or some one esignated by the Board, must deliver , the Commnissioners of Election the ol list, the boxes containing the bal >ts, and written statements. of the result' f the election.
