A dispatch published in The State the next morning contained the informa tion that he was choked to death while eating a piece of iare beef steak. Those sitting about him noticed that he was choking and a physician was summoned, but he arrived too lato. Mr. Nelson's remains were brought to Winns boro Wednesday night and in terred in the Presbyterian ceme tery Thursday morning. The funeral exetcises were conducted by Rev. C. E. McDonal, assisted by Rev. J. L. Freeman. The following relatives of the deceased were at the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Newnhkam, Mrs. Caroline Miller and Mrs. J. S. Land, all of Columbia.
