Miss Mitchell cut tho first slice and caco-person present cut his own slice, each one hoping for the ring, as gutting the ring slgaifled that that person was to >c married first. Tho dime signified a wealthy marriage and the thimble a life filled with work. Miss Elizabeth Breazeale was-the fortunate one to secure the ring, which, strange to say, fit her perfect ly. Miss Alice Belle Burrlss cut b'ae slice containing the dime and Mr. Leroy Burrlss the slice which con cealed the thimble.
