FRED GASK1N Mr. Tom Gaskin has recently received from the War Department the following Citation for his son, Fred, who died in the service of his country in France: DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS CITATION Corporal Frederick O. Gaskins (deceased) Co. I, 118th Inf., Distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy of the United States at La Hare Meneresse, France, rtn the 16th of October, 1918 and in recognition of his gallant conduct I have awarded him in the name of the President the Distinguished Service Cross. Awarded on the 26th of Nov. 1918. JOHN J. PF.RRHlMr: Commander in Chief. DEATH OF SENATOR HOUGH Senator W. C. Hough, of Canaster, died early yesterday morning at his home in Lancaster. Mr. Hough was a brother of Probate Judge M. J. ' Hough, of Chesterfield, and had many friends here, who join in extending sympathy to Judge Hough and all the bereaved family. Senator Hough was one of the strong men of the. General Assembly. The funeral will occur to-day (Thursday).
