Laney and help finish these garments so they may be forwarded to Belgium. There is also wool for socks and sweaters that will soon be needed by our boys who will be "over there" for many months yet. The case of the United States Food Administration vs. H. VV. Pusser will be called in the United States Court at Charleston on Dec. 3d. The following statement has been issued by the Local Board of Registration: "By order of the President, all calls to report to camp for duty are cancelled." We now have a great stack of good soldier letters that we were unable to get in the paper this week. Many of them will be just as good next week, however. Even if the fighting is over we will want to hear the boys tell their experiences for many days yet to come. A Peace-Victory celebration will Lt. carried on in connection with the County Fair. These are specially fine animals and range from 250 to 1000 pounds. Mrs. F. M. Cannon was called to Silver, S. C., Tuesday on account oi the death of her brother, Mr. Lee Thomas. Mr. Thomas, an Atlantic Coast Line agent at Pinewood, S. C., had given freely of his time during the r< cent influenza epidemic ir hauling the government doctors around. His death was sudden, he having been sick only three days. The Rev. A. H. McArn, of Cheraw will give a talk on the United Wai Work Compaign in Chesterfield al 3 p.m., Saturday. All our people should express their gratitude for the ending of the war bv subscribing lib erally to this campaign which wil! aid so much in protecting and making comfortable the boys until they car come home. In fact the Y.M.C.A and its associate organizations wil be worse needed now by the boy: than ever. The Chesterfield County Fair dates have again been changed. The new dates are November 27, 28, 20 aik .'U)th. The change was brought aboul on account of I)r. Trotti, the presi dent, and C. L. Hunley, the secretary having to attend the United States Court in Charleston the firsl j week in December.
