Do The Political Pot A Good Baseball Team The Base Ball Team that is etenuously contesting for the office of County Supervisor is one of the best balanced, most representative teams ever seen in this or any other county. The players come from all sections of the county and each section is represented on this team. To begin with the old reliaole a -1 in rvi? catcner, omun unver, wno some of the fans of Huby and elsewhere have picked to "catch" the job, it seems to be admitted, if his long absence from the game has not destroyed his peg to second, hat somebody will have to go some to beat him out. A man new to the game (of politics) is the pitcher, Henry Cros well, who is trying hard for control and who some of the Pageland and other fans say will make a strike out record of at least eight in this game and come out winner. Kd Knight is a first baseman who is old at the game and needs no introduction to any Chesterfield fan. The Angelus folks say that the people of the county know how good old steady Ed can go after bad thiows and high throws (not high balls) and that he will make his position whethar nr no Frank King, for four yearp, has been second to none on second base, his Chesterfield and Dther boosters say. The fans behind him argue strenuously that when it comes to ground balls he is a hum-dinger, which fvith his peg to second basep, nean that the job is his'n for mother period at least. W. A. Sullivan is a short-stop mown even beyond the limits of ZJhesterfield County, and the bleachers are heard from every time he makes those star plays shat he makes so often. 11 is uipporters say that he is a whole team in himself and just must be supported. Third base, which is conceded to be the hardest place on the team, Alligator township fans jay must go the fellows who ;an maKe the dirt My, who are Noel Johnson and Lucious McCoy. Now two fellows can't play third as every one knows and one of these good players Good News Many Chesterfield Readers Have tleard It and Profited Thereby. "Good news travels fast," and :he many bad back sufferers in this vicinity are glad to learn where relief maV b e found. Many a lame, weak and aching back is bad no more, thanks to L)oan's Kidney Pills. Thousands upon thousands of people ire telling the good news of heir experience with this test?d remedy. Here is an example worth reading: Mrs. Jane K. Edwards, Catawba St., Lancaster, S, C., says: 'One of the family suffered from disordered kidneys. The kidney action was irregular and caused much annoyance. There were severe pains across the s nail of the back and a ftood ninrht.'a r A a t a'?o imnnoaiKIa Doan's Kidney Till* gave great relief. I always have a good word for Doan's Kidney Tills and recommend them to my frr nds whenever I can." Trice 50c, at all dealers. Don't simply ask for a kidney remedy ?get Doan's Kidney Pills?the same that Mrs. Edwards recom mends. Foster - Milburn Co, I'rops., Buffalo, N. Y. ASHCRAFTS Condition Powders A high-class remedy for horses and mules in poor condition and in need of a tonic. Builds solid muscle and fat; cleanses the system, thereby producing a smooth, glossy coat of hair. Packed in doses. 25c. box. Sold hf I '\D. H.tANEY i - * . \ , Mmm* 1 fiis name on thd e this year If you v5te in the re the last Tuesday in July at it Now must go to "left ' field. Now it is up to the fans we are glad to say, and not to us as we would't. pick between these two reliable players. We believe that unless you have good outfielders on any team that you can't go far with- i out losing games so we have saved the old reliables, Philip Arant and Fred Rivers, who are fine on llv halln Knfh ? -? cial nembers of the church and are not worth & cuss on "high balls". Which of these two will get into "right" field is hard to say. This much is certain the other one muet take center and whichever one we get in right will make us a good one. Now tin8 team is not complete i by any means, and we make this suggestion to some other aspi-1 rant by way of good advice:! The above team needs the most i important member of any team, viz, an umpire, and also by the wav, we need the $d.00 for the card, so we want an umpire at once. The outlook is not1 bright to beat these nine good ones as we have shown, but we have seen many a game won by the umpire alone, even right here in Courtly Chesterfield (of course a good many years ago). In our opinion this is an opportunity that comes only once in so seldom to help out a worthy cause?rates on application.
