Curry?I'ystor The Quarterly Conference was held Sunday June 12, 1955 at Cedar Creek Church. * Sunday School was opened .at' the usual hour wit-h all classes and Teach's at their usual post of duty. Subject of the S. S. lesson was "Young King Josiah." Scrip-j ture-11 Chronicles 84. After each i class finished the studying o f ; the lesson, we had some splendid i remarks concerning the S. S. lesson by our Elder., After the financial portion of the S. S. we j, was dismissed. Immediately. following this. worship service began. Service wis opened by the pastor Rev. j Curry by the use of Hymn No. i 248. Afterwhich Prayer was offer- I ed. Following, We had a ; soul stirring Spiritual by a visitor. The Scripture was road by our P. E. Afterwhich we had a wonderful and Soul Stirring message by the Elder. His message \<St<-in uplifting one, which was ver?11 much acceptable and enjoyed by the whole congregation. After the ? close of the worship service, the Lord Supper . was given to every Christian ley the P. E. and oippastor. Following, the Elder went through -his usual \ procedures. After the prayer service, the musical choir conducted > the opening service for the sermon. We said Psalms 1 in concert led by Rev. Center. Scripture was read 'from Acts 8:1-25. The Missionary offering was lifted durHail The Power Of Jesus' Name. Prayer for Missions by Deacon Curley Dreher. Rev. Center came forward -and rendered a very inspiring, sermon j taking his text "from Acts 8:35.{ "Then Philip opened his month,! and began at the same scripture, I and preached unto him .Jesus." i Theme: Jesus, the way of Salva-J tion. Rev. Center brought out how Philip preached to the eunuch j beginning with Josiuh ond connecting the New Testament story _ of Jesus with the prophecy o f Isaiah. I Due tp the illness of another 'daughter of our pastor, Rev. ^ailey was unable to worship with us. We hope and pray she will recover soon. We enjoyed having F^ev.
