L, Boyd, Reporter, y ARTHURTOWN SCHOOL The Parent Teachers Association -ol Arthurs School?held their firstpublic meeting Sunday evening at the brown Chapel church. The Jienior choir of the church and the school's Glee Club rendered most 'excellent music for mt occasion, under the direction ol Mr. Jonn Hunter, who is principal of the school. Dr. It. W. Mance, one of Columbia's most outstanding physicians was the guest speaker for the group. Everyone was pleased with the help given both parent and children. Rev;-Curry, the minister Was~ present to encourage the parents in this effort. Mrs. Willie Jefferson served as mistress of ceremonies. At the close of the meeting a frienuly rivalry, Mrs. llall represented Mrs. Simons' -group?o f children, Mrs. Butler, Miss Johnson's and Deacon Green, Mr Hunter's group and a collection o f $20.00 was raised, to assist i n j making some much needed repairs at the school. W. Black's class is the banner class this month at New Bethel. Our pastor really looks ,new with his new brown suit that New Bethei gave him and he thank them along with St. Paul Baptist for the kind ness tendered him and he spoke of the new suit that Mt.
