"Diagnostic Studies in Arithme.
Miss Boyd opened the discussion
with "The purpose of Diagnosis."
A teacher who participated in an.
experiment found that diagnosis
revealed hr bits of work which they
t had not realized pupils possessed.
After diagnosis a better under,
standing of pupils' needs is ob.

He stated that very often

the discussions. He stressed keep
ing in mind the life situation of the

the unsatisfactory methods used

the "34 Year Book'* and come prepared
to-enter whole-heartedly into
the discussions,
