Thompson was funeralized at the
Friendship A. M. E. church Sunday,
September 14th. The entire
church was deeply grieved and
shocked. He died Thursday morn
ing, September 11, 5- o'clock after
a sudden illness on Wednesday
night. The previous raght,
Mr. Thompson was in service and
fulfilled 'his duty as a choir mem- ,
ber. His voice was last heard by
many Tuesday night when the
Evangelist Sister Nesby asked
some one to sing one hymn in the
old familiar tune, It was* Mr.'

At 3:30 o'clock the remains
were brought"to the church. Long

led by the Pastor, Rev. H. W.

?^'The beautiful gray brocaded
plush casket was before the altar,
upon it was a large bunch of
gladiolus, maiden hair fern. Surrounding
the casket was a profus
ion of flowers from white and colored
friends. Mr. Thompson was

choir and a steward.

It is true we will miss him. We
will miss him, we'll miss that
sweet voice, but let us bow our
