AND ^BENNETTSVILLE HI SCHOOL 1 A representative number o f young men of the various trade departments of the Bennettsville , high school attended the "trade tournament," whicTi was held at the Voorhees N. and I. School, Denmark on Friday. April 18th. Thrs trip was made possible as a result of the patrons of the school supporting the various financial drives sponsored by the trade boys. The following boys attended Masonry department: Rathuel McCollum, Heber Covington, W. C. Thompson,?Loney Thomas, Shakespeare McEaddy and G. B. Elloby. Carpentry Dept.: Hampton Dupi'ee, Fred Thomas, Jacob Haynes J. J. Littles, Lawrence McCollum, Crover Adams, Arthur J. - Wright ?-?--? Contestants: Dept. of Masonry, Rathuel McCollum. Although the first prize in the masoriry contest was^wori by a contestant of Voorhees, both of our contestants attracted great attention from the' spectators. The contestant in carpentry also made a splendid showing and was successful in obtaining the mprrt nf "hnnnrnhlp mention." These boys reallyl exhibited ^Hferreat skilly in bpthcontests. Prof. J. H. Green is director of the carpentry department and Prof. M. H. Robinson is the director of the masonry department. These boys were accompanied by Rev. A. J. Wright and Prof. J. H. Green. The group accompanied by Rev. Wright visited ~ Fort Jackson in Columbia. The primary department will present "The Golden Whistle" on Thursday night, April 24 _in the school auditorium.
