Florida1 annual conference met in Payne Chaipel A. M. E. church, West Palm Beach, Florida with the Rt. Rev. H. Y. Tookes, presiding Bishop, and Dr. C. A. Gibbs, the entertaining pastor. It is report ed that it was the greatest jind the most far-reaching session in the histovy of the conference. As Bishop Todkes presided with ease, dignity and impartiality he gave to African Methodism a new 'place in the hearts and minds of many. 'Everyone concluded that truly he is a man of God, with a master mind saturated with the - ?spirit of the Christ. ... The conference went on record, by vote, endorsing the Rev. Carey A.
