Miss Evelyn Lark Johnson '43 won the title of Miss Bell Street in a recent contest by reporting the highest amount of money 01 all contestants. She entered Bell Street high school, Clinton, S. C. in the fall of 1931) and immediately won the esteem of her instructors manners. Callaham Funeral Home was in charge. The funeral service of Mr. S. H. Chambers, one of Spartanburg's outstanding citizens, was conducted at Majority Baptrst church by his pastor, the Rev. J. S. Daniels, ' Rev. C. C. Clark of Greenville and many other local ministers. Mr. Chambers leaves a devoted wife, Mrs. Edith Chambers, sisters and brothers along with many sorrowing friends to mourn his passing.
