The community was shocked tc learn of the death of Miss Ctenia Graham who died Wednesday morn ing at 7:40, August 23rd. She fin ished from the Lake City school in May 1938 and was very active in church and school affairs. She was confined at her home for a bout 5 weeks. Funeral services were held last Sunday. Her brother, Mr. Wallocp .Graham is still on the sick list. Wr wish for him a speedy recovery. Miss Marie Barnes and Mr. Lew is Keels were joined in happy wed lock the morning of August 13 by Rev. S. J. Montgomery of Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Keels seem to be living very happily togeth e-T;?Mrs. Keels finished from the Lake - City school in 1934. Upon special recommendation of the Principal, Prof. L. F. Buckner of Wilson Ili. Florence, Miss Queen Ester Washington cf Lake City received a state high school diploma. She finished from the Lakp City school in 1938 and from Wilson Hi in 1939. She is planning to begin her college work in September. Prof. Buckner stated that the recommendation was due to the unusual high marks that she made at Wilson Hi. Mr. Ralph Wilburn has returned to his home in Washington after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Law Wilburn. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Ellen Smith continues ill at her home here. Traffic was heavy Saturday afternoon and night and all day Sunday taking people to and from the camp meet ing. Many were from all parts of the country who came for the occasion. ?Mi-. David?Delton,?crtrr?county farm demonstration agent for Negroes, is doing a wonderful piece of work here. On Wednesday the 23rd, he succeeded in getting 18 Negro farmers to accompany him to Hartsville to visit the Coker farm there. After a very interesting discussion led by Mr. Geo. Wilds, president of Coieer seed firm, the group toured around to the many demonstration plots which proved better ideas for good farming-. Dairy farming was al? shown. Thus much benefit was obtained by each farmer who determined to put into his farming lext year. Thuisday, 24th.
