ST. STEPHENS AME CHURCH!
- Dr. G. D. Carnes, Presiding Elder

at St. Stephens.
A more friendly, interesting and

St. Stephen'h Old?Regulars^?a*
that held Tuesday night, January

The pastor, the Rev. Hale B.

hp said is the Maeti i Charta of I
the Christian church.
The Presiding Elder, who left
Kittrell College Tuesday evening
at C :30 1 o'clock, was feeling as
only the Presiding Elder of the
Wilmington District can feci when
miles divide him frohi St. Stephen's
on such a ni^ht.
The_ Pastor^Tully ? acquainted
with the situation, met the oceasion
like a well trained charger
when the tire bell calls. By nine
o'clock, Rev. Carnes had arrived
and the pastor had the Quarterly

of an Anhiial Confrence.
Composed of what you ask?
All local ministers of the church,

officers of' Sunday school, the Mis

who never fail us.
The new machinery of the con

of five or more members headed
with a chairman and. a secretary
of their choice. They were* the
dollar money, contingent, mission
ary, presiding elder, fclass dues,
and boards and clubs committees;
with a finance committee station
ed in the middle aisle. The financial
slogan was 25c, 5c and 5c.
When the Quarterly Conference'
