""~A large audience was present after the rain of early, morning to hear the gospel. The pastor preacl ed an instructive sermon from Matthew 25:8, subject "Failing Lamps''. Mr. A. Lewis joined the church and was assigned- to ? class of Bro. Allen Hudgens. Sunday evening, Rev; D. P. Adams brought ua the message^ ^ Rev. Adams, as usual, was heard by the congregation with much delight. The Junior choir, under tire direction of Mrs. M.~b?Wnherspoon rendered beautiful music all day. This splendid group of singers is talked of far and near. We regret to report the illness of Mesdames Nellie Harris, Addic Miller, Lula Robinson, Emma Ellison, Maggie Williams, Bessie Lcg6n.~Mamie Sullivan, Willie Miles F.mmn Humnhrev. Many of these at this writing are improved and we pray their speedy recovery. Mrs. M. M. Calhooin, MisseFlorence Lykes, Ruth Adams, L. R. Tillman, Dr. E. E McClarcn, Mesdames Laura Cooper and Alildred McClaren are among the mem bers of our church whof .motored to Columbia last Week to attevd the State Teachers' association. The "Sunday school's attendance and achievements were very gra tifying, two new scholars being added. Our Presiding Elder Dr. K. C. From the subject "The Voice of Authority" Dr. Hole detivoied a masterly sermon which shall linger long in the minds and hearts Of the lieuieis.?With giippi'MY ''ttentlon and. interest this message was received and the How ol' the piritual tide was high. Visitor*" too numerous to lhontion her/ worshiped and were welcomed gladly. At the evening's worship theregathered agai n a large ami inspiring congregation for service. "The Power of The Gospel", constituted the subject of the discourse by our elder and this mesthought and inspiration. As the ^ cflimax was reached there were great outbursts of spiritual fervor and enthusiasm. Visitors in large numbers again shared in the &vening'3 service. A musciale is being spmuored on Thursday night of this week at the YWCA building by^the program committee. City-wide t:il ents are cooperatting splendidly i?-?this effort. ,. On Monday night the fecund quarterly coierence session was presided over by Dr. Holt and was revealed by the record a large vol _ ume of business was achieved both spiritually and temporally.
