Not many were prtsent, but nevertheless we had splendid services throughout the day. Our Sundaj school opened at its usual hour, 10:00 a. m. After the lesson hue been taught by the various teachers, Rev. Lewis gave a splendid review. We must? congratulate the girls on Miss Laurence's class for having the banner in collection for the post Sundays. At 11:15 a. m. Rev. Lewis had a very inspiring sermon 3or ' hearers. His-teXt was taken trom " the 105 Psalm. His'subj?$t was "A Called Thanksgiving." Reverend S. S. Morris, the secretary and treasurer of the A. C E. C., on last Sunday morning to witness the, close of the South Carolina conference. The number of churches affected oy this conference, begin another year with the hope that this year will be a banner /ear for each church and that when the last mile post shall have been reached we all mpy have nothing to regret. Emmanuel^ banner is still floating. The standard bearer ould not let it touch the ground. Rev. J.-E. Thomas, former pastor of Emmanuel has been given the Mt. The preliminaries were carried out in the usual manner and the morning's message was delivered by Rev. White. He is always ready am .villing to se^ve and whenever is his lot to ''carry on'", he comes up and executes the duty devolv d upon him. The message was uplifting. ? The attendance at- the evening hour was very fine. Rev. Thomas onducted the"" devotionals after which he introduced and presented to the 'congregation Rev. R, E. Brogdou. Immediately the pastor arose and after prayer took his text from the thirty-second Psalm eighth verse: "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the 'way which hou shalt go: I will guide thee vith mine eye."
