OPTIMISTIC ABOUT FUTURE Bishop Noah W. .Williams of the Seventh Episcopal District of (lie, Friday for a vacation in St'. Louis,! where he pastored prior 10 his elee-> tion to the Bishopric last May. The bishop has sojourned in South Carolina, practically without interrup tion since the beginning of the Commencement: season at Allen College. Since last May Bishop Williams hu. visited maiiy points. throughout Tii state and has preached and lectured wherever he has gone to the enlightunder the supervision of Presiding heard him. Ilis lectures liave all been calculated to quicken the interest of the people in their church by stressing in a definite way salient . -?points regarding the -traditions and accomplishments of ' the lA. Miss Davis Last Rites Laist rites over the remains ol* Miss Thomasena Davis who departed this life Thursday August IK were held at Ladson Presbyterian Church and the Palmetto Cemetery; The ! Rev. A. S. Powe, Pastor of l^idson 1 was in charge of the ceremonies. The funeral services-was dignified * and simple. The choir ^sang softly and sweetly. The Rev. K. S. Law-. ' rence Pastor of Bethel A. M. K. Church read the Scripture. Th.* Obituary was read by the Rev. Powe. Remarks were made by the Rev. G. T. Dillard, veteran Presbyterian minister. The .main eulogy was delivered by the 'Rev.- D. T.
