A Marvelous and Stupendous Production Featuring Negro Spirituals A portrayal of the Negro Pilgrimage, and a naive conception of Negro Religion will be presented at the Township Auditorium, Monday night. April 18, aLJLOO o'clock, for the benefit of The Unemployment Movement and Clubs of Allen University. "Heaven Bound", is a.famous interpretation ef the Negro's pilgrimage fiom earth to Heaven. Lt has been given in nianty. large cities such as Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, Philadelphia and Baltimore. It rivals "Green Pastures." In Atlanta it was repeat, cd four times. The fourth time it was repeated for a large' white audience. There were six thousands paid admjs sioms. It la filled with Negro .wit, pathos, and thrills. It is literally satuiated with, original Negro Spirituals,' sung i in the old . time' : way. These Spirituals, constitute a large place in the religious life of the Ncrni ' * ' mere is lots of action in the pilgrimage which has delighted every audience. The cast playing, comes tuimi various plantations -in South Carolina and Gem-gin, and Hi-o <linl. ontjj arid friends of Allen University. Synopsis Three of the most "important char acters in the whole pilgrimage. are, Saint Peter, the Devil and the Iler-* ; aid. . , The sound of many voices in melodious' strains, comes from Eternity. One'' is sitting on white throne in ~ Heaven. -The pilgrims?"are?m?the spirit," start on their Pilgrimage sing ? .ng .uing.i.?They aie diessed in ttliite , lobes, with crowns of gold on their heads. They are - carrying Palms. .Saint Peter and ten angels appear befoie them, as thety are still in the jspirH-.-^-Thgy-emttdinie on the pilgrirn?^ aee singing al' of the old time songs, shouting and praising God. Some* are cripple, blind and poor. They b:d all who are by the shte'^C^tke King's Highway to join them.ir . _ 2?"A soldier brave and strong" (a woman), whom the devil dare not ? haim, is persuaded to join the "Hea_ -ven Bound" crowd. She sings and shouts her way to Heaven and is erowped. " 3?"A-foot-sore soldier" comes' around the mountain in search of the Eternal City and his crown "of glory.
