We are indeed grateful to the good Lord for the very pleasant day all Sunday and for, services highly enjoyed throughout the day.. The Sunday school lessor-was a very?interesting one with a great question by a ruler of the Jews and that wnmh-r- j ful declaration ' by Jesus: "Ye must be born again." The Review ot the lesson by the Pastor was inspiring and enjoyetT At. 11:15. a. m., a splendid audi-'ice had assembled. Dr. Lawrence assist ed in the preliminaries by Dr. G. T. I Dillard of the PresbyteHan church 0 mon~ was taken"from I Sam. 3:15: subject "Visions and Duty." A won-i derfui discourse .. which. found i'm vmwith the Holy Spirit_and had its. et-_ feet for good. Also at -night the sermon was rnfghty convincing with the Spirit's ipower?taken fro pi St. John V*;3; subject "Regeneration." ^ The historical?setting of?but|i K'r-~ mops by Dr. Lawrence proved very helpful. We. are indeed-thankful for the four persons who came forward and connected themselves with the church Sunday morning?and for the - infant whiqh was brought .lotward for baptism after the sermon. Dr. Lawrence and Bethel Church will be host to the .Pastors and their memtbers of! the (Columbia District in Group No. 1, at p. m. Sunday the 24, at Bethel church. This is a movement on . foot by the., Presiding Elder and Ministers of the Columbia District to raise their Educational assessment. The services began at 3:30 o'clock. The B. Y. P. U; rendered a short program at its meeting, after which ?; the newly elected?officers?were- installed by Deacon A. McD. Jackson Chairman of the Deacon Board. 'On Monday evening, Jan. 18th, Prince Wilbourn rendered one of the most-elaborate programs .that has ever been given in the history of the r church. At eight o'clock the church was. paclcfed ^v/ith wfiite and colored. Rev. Harrington the Prince's Business Manager gave a brief sketch of I his (Prince's) life in a wav of an introduction. The program was divided into three parts. Part I. Several spirituals were sung by a chorus of fifty, or more voices, led and played1 by?thrr prince. Part II consisted of instrumental numbers, classics and gpirituals including a Hungarian Rhapsody No. 7, a most difficult composi?tron by?Bach, on -two pianos, rmri several compositions by him elf. Part in.-^"The Million Dollar Ys'edding." Guests representing noted Douglass. Paul Lawpence Dunbar, Congressman Oscar DePriest, Major Robt. Moton, Dr. D. H. Sims, Dr. J. J. Starks, Bishop Ransom, Dr. I. D. Pinson and many others were the .first to enter. Women representing Mrs. Bert Williams, Phyllis Wheatley Mtme. C. J. Walker."Mme. Malone and others were next.
