CONWAY NEWS The Mock Conference which?was recently given by the Missionary, Society of Bethel A. 'M .E. church was very good. The Bishop, Presidng Elders, -General Otficers and Minsters acted their parts well. The District presided over by Mrs, Surah ' ' raised over $10.00, was more than the requited amount. \ sum of $58.00 was realized. The W. H. and F. Missionary Society met at the cozy home of Mrp. Cora Stanley, Friday night, Nov 14. witli Mrs. Martha Johnson as hostess. The meeting* was called to order by the President. Mrs. Ruth Gadsden, flie devotional exercises were very impressive. Plans were made for a Box Supper Tuesday night, Nov. 18. Remarks were made by Rev. W. I. Gore. After the transaction of business, he roll was called by the secretary Mrs. N?B?Devest or, and dues Were collected. The hostess served a menu consisting of chicken with dressing, saltinesr~4ee -cake, punch and mints. It seems like the members of the Missionary Society" have taken on new life. The lesson was discussed bv teachers and scholars which was very interesting to all; the Public School Teachers taking-a- liveiy part in the discusion. At 11:30 o'clock out- Pastor, Rev. Win. Wright, delivered a soul stirring 'to a large crowd from Isaiah 3:7; the collection was. $5.I0.There were many visitors which are alwpys welcome. The man" friends of Mr. Luther Babcock, are glad to see him *6ut again after being confined to his home for several days with an injured leg sustained in playing foot ball.
