McCottrie of acceptance was befitting to say the lefretTj Revivals or Close up Shops No mistake about it the churches will have to have real revivals now ort close their doors. This thing of big! crowds, big preaching a?d big eating have almost put the church r>nt of bu-' siness at this age of our existence. Our big meetings,, are scarcely anything but bjg social gatherings. In' them but few if any coming groanng after salvation. No one yearns for j en/christian parents for the souls of their sinful children. The country churfches- are crowded with sinners and the city churches have in them too. many unsaved persons for God. If | vne cnurcn s mission still is to prepare men for the kingdom of Heaven, and for the coming of the master it hasundoubtedly fallen short of its accomplishments at this age in which we live tThe serious trouble with the church today is that persons are not being (converted" IrT^hem. And churches cannot survivP without an influx of souls. Our revivals are, flat failures and will forever be at the poor dying rate of "which they are conducted. No one thinkS""Of""prfcylng and fasting, for them not"even the pastoV. No progressive measures of. evangelism are put forth in them. In fact no sacrificial time is given in interest of them. I This old way of meeting nine o'clock at night and running prayer meeting until ten o'clock; take collection until until 10:45, then preach until 11:00, and call for mourners at midnight, will (dispense with soul saving the world over in such so called revival meetings. r.
