The meeting of the executive cum. mittee of the Republicans was pre* sided over by Joseph Tolbert of Ninety-Six, who . is statg chairman an " also national committeeman from '"South Carolina. Mr. Tolbert is a candidate for delegate to the natipn. al convention from the state at la and so is N- J. Frederick, Negro attorney of this city. From the number of candidates seeking the election . of delegates to the "national convention it appears as though the February meeting will be a little stormy. Only^four delegates aife elected from the state at large and they are elected in the state convention.
