The Christian Endeavor League is having good attendance and splendid talks every Sunday at 6:30. This is where the young folks have the chance to express themselves freely in their- own-w?y. Sunday evening, Dr. Adams spoke 13:20, n plea for wholesome association, "The best evidence of just what you hope to be, association has great power, it will defile or ~ it will purify," . ? BROOKLAND BAPTISE CHURCH NEWS ;a April 4th, the Sunday School rendered their Easter progam of which all honor is due to Misses Mray F. West and Fallese Cook for their many efforts in making pit was turned into a lovely flowpr garden which could not help but make the little folk realize "the meaning of Easter. Near 3,000 people attended deacon A- P. Williams' funeral at Zion at 1:30 p. m. Dr. White preached this funeral also: funerals, the Sunday-School observed Easter exercises at 5 p. m., because last Sunday (Easter) was Communion day The exer^ cises were grand, Mrs. Alma 'L. Hopkins having praticed the young people. These ^exercises continued until 7:30. Ushers Board Turns Out8:00 p. m.?The Ushers turned out, which a bevy of beautiful young women took- charge of the congregation for the evening. Pastor White presented Editor J. D. Carr of the Asheville Enterprise, who made a splendid speech telling of the great opportunities which Asheville, N. C- offers, to the colored man. -> Dr. White said he was tired and said he was not going to preach any more for the day'and introduced Rev^ E. T. A short song service was held, after which the children assembled to the various clashes to have the lesson. * The lesson was explained fully by the teachers, then discussed by- the pupils^: R-epori-swere made from the different classes, then the lesson-was reviewed by the Supt.
