A happy idea was struck upon by the house of Pathe, and now the wounded and convalescing soldiers in the hospitals, especially those who were fitted through their former occupations, do this minutely delicate work of coloring the tiny pictures on the film. The plan has been most successful. Many of the wounded poilus are passing away the long hours in this fascinating work and ading to their incomes as well, and in many instances men who have been incapacitated for their peace time lines of endeavoi have a new means of livelihood. The first of these films to be seen on this side of the Atlantic is "May Blossom," a beautiful five part feature play, presenting the well known star, Pearl White. The entire production was made in America ana snipped to France for coloring, which was done by the soldiers. "May Blossom" will be the feature attraction at the Edisonia on Saturday, August 25th, and the combination of star and story, as well as the superb natural coloring assures an unusually atractive offering. NAVY MAN SPEAKS. Raymond L. Harris, petty officer, on duty at the United States Navy recruiting station, made a speech at the Waverly Methodist church yesterday morning, in which he referred to the coming of the soldiers to the cantonment and impressed upon his hearers the urgent need of a hearty personal welcome to these "boys" as the patriotic duty of the church members of the city.?The State. The Union County Baptist association meets August 29-30 with the Jonesville Baptist church. The preparation for the entertainment of the delegates have already been made and a large attendance is expected. There will be quite a number of prominent visiting ministers and representatives of the various denominational interests in attendance upon the meetings. The meetings will be held in the auditorium of the high school building, owing to the fact that the new church building has not been completed.
