In most sections the rai was needed very much. M rs. J. W. Bishop of Jacksonvill Fla.f and the writer took a trip u to Asheville last Tuesday. We stayc over 'till Wednesday. Must say thi short trip was enjoyed. On returr ing the writer noted lots of places c interest. With all the sights that ca be seen I think the mountains is on of the most wonderful yet. The mos promising looking towns we reach i at the foot hills of the mountain: Arriving at the station Tryon w couldn't help but think how brav those people must have been whe utting the railroad through the mour tains as it seemed to be such an ur dertaking to go any further. The were about to give up when the hea >f the company sent them word t :'Try-on" and that is the way this sta tion got its name. The waving cor ill the way up to Asheville certainl s a beautiful sight. We arrived in Asheville about iVlock. We stayed over at the Glad ;tone hotel and then took in most o :he important places of Asheville tha xe could reach by car. We also went out to Battery park V large hotel is at this place and ai mmense monument of Vance mark me of North Carolina's remarkabl nen. On leaving Asheville Wednesda; norning at 7 o'clock we witnessei ome beautiful sights as the sun shin ng on the mountain showers nev ight than what it was the day before 5o many stations of interest and seen o fit their names so well. We ar ived at Buena Vista at 7:30. At thi dace the mountain is covered witl he flower purple heather. At another station known as Sky and, which certainly is in the lund o he skies. The next stop was "Arden," one o he most poetical scenes yet as it; cenery suits with its name fine. Another pretty place was Naples 'he scenery here is very pretty, a: guess its name came from the rea Naples in Italy.
