Owing to the downpour of rain on the 4th the picnic and barbecue at the Wallace mills was' a failure. Tho camping paxty, consisting of 18 young people from this place, who spent several days last week at Blythe Shoals, returned Saturday night, having enjoyed the outing and with many funny experiences to relate. Mrs. Ida E. Whitlock visited in Landrum last week as the guest of her son, Mr. R. P. Whitlock. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Whitmire visited in Hendersonville last week. Miss Mae Calvert was at home to a number of her friends on last Wednesday evening in honor of her guest, Miss Thornton. Mrs. S. H.
