A FAMILY MFniriNP 1*1 L* ft/ I \s 111 L* In Her Mother's Home, Says This Georgia Lady, Regarding BlackDraught. Relief From Headache, Malaria, Chills, Etc. Ringgold, Ga.? Mrs. Chas. Gaston, of this place, writes: "I am a user of Thedford's Black-Draught; In fact. It was one of our family medicines. Also In my mother's home, when I was a child. "When any of us children complained of headache, usually caused by constipation, she gave us a dose of Black-Draught, which would rectify the trouble. Often In the Spring, wo would have malaria and chills, or troubles of this kind, wo would take Black-Draught pretty regular until the liver acted well, and we would soon be up and around again. We would not be without It, | for It certainly has saved us lots of doctor bills. Just a dose or BlackDraught when not bo well saves a lot of days In bed." Thedford's Black-Draught has been In use for many years in the treatment cf stomach, liver and bowel troubles, and the popularity which it now enjoys Is proof of its merit. If your liver is not doing its duty, you will Buffer from such disagreeable symptoms as headache, biliousness, constipation, indigestion, etc., and unless something is done, serious trouble may result. The cool weather has certainly put the farmers in a gloomy state of having to plant cotton over as the weather prevented it from coming up. In some Jhctions it is worse on account of the awful hail storm which did a great deal of damage to crops. The writer had the pleasure of attending the closing exercises at Sunnyside school Saturday night. The program was well carried out and a I large crowd attended. Prof. Guess of Sunnyside made an excellent talk in j behalf of the school and how well they were progressing. They certainly have a beautiful school building with tfell-trained teachers. One of the most striking features of the program was a flag drill, which was fine and well carried out by the pupils. The people there and the pupils seem to have so much interest in their school, as they seem to progress with the naipe Sunnyside. Miss Marie Burgess and Miss Bert Porter of Union were the guests of Misses Etha and Lois Gallman Sunday. Mr. Ralph Swink of Woodruff is visiting relatives in this community this week. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Whitlock of Jonesville spent Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Whitlock's. Mrs. Lester Reeves and children of | Cedar Grove visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Fowler Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Lancaster and children of Sulphur Springs spent the week-end with their mather, Mrs. Emma Gallman. Miss Alsie Smith visited her tomato club Monday and arranged for the coming season. It is the effort of everybody to can lots of every thing this year. We appreciate having Miss Alsie to visit our community. Mrs. Mary E. Brown died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Long, near Ninety-nine Islands, Cherokee county, Wednesday, May 23, and was ' buried at New Hope Thursday, May 24. Her burial was conducted by Rev. Mr. Peeler of Pacolet and Rev Mr. Keaton of Gaffney. There was a large crowd to pay the last tribute of respect. Mr. Keaton described the beautiful poem, Thanatopsis in his sermon as death to be a pleasant dream. She leaves two sons, J. A. Frown of Union and J. D. Brown of rrar Jonesville, and one daughter, Mrs. Ida Long, at whose home she -i:- i OL_ i: 1 ? ?ui? i ????? I'.ii'.l, one iiveu a iiuuic aiiu twuatanted life. LOCKHART^ Lockhart, May 30.?On last Tuesday our town was visited by quite a storm, for a short time hail fell furiously, but, being of small size, did very little damage in this community. Farmers are complaining about their cotton having died out during the past cool spell, and quite a number of them have planted over. Seed for planting seems a little scarce. The people at Lockhart seems to be ahead of everybody in gardens. Your correspondent made a trip to Spartanburg last week and failed to see anything that would equal the Lockhart gardens. Assistant Treasurer J. Roy Fant and Supt. F. D. Lockman have and are still are doing everything in their power to help the people along in beautifying the place and raising something to eat. We think we have the best mill town in the State and the best management. J. Roy Fant is attending U. S. court at Anderson this week. Mrs. B. D. Douglass and her charming daughter, Miss Lily, and Willie attended commencement at Union last week. They report having enjoyed the exercises very much.
