LOCKHART JUNCTION I-ockhart Junction, April 16.?The 1 weather is fair but we have cool nights and mornings. The planting | season has come. Some have planted ! cotton seed and there has been some corn planted. There is a great deal of land to fix yet. Some will plant and fix and fix and plant until they get all in. I see there is a great deal of cane being planted for feed and there will be a great deal made up in molasses if it is a good year. We should plant feed stuff, for it is sure to go higher if we don't make it. I was at Union today. I saw the Union boys board tVe train for Styx and they went off very cheerful. I hope these soldier boys will come out victorious. I hope there will be peace before any blood will be shed or lives lost from our American soldiers. President Wilson recently said sparks are flying everywhere. We know not what a day may bring forth. This writer spent the week-end in Chester county, stopping at the homo of Mr. T. M. Trailor, a prominent citizen and planter of that county. Mr. and Mrr. Trailor had a reunion; had all their children and grandchildren present and other invited guests. This was an enjoyable occasion with music at.d other fun for young and old. We I .l.M il_- 1 t . nun .%v inn aiiyiwiHW me Kina nosp'.tality shown us by Mr. and Mrs. Trailor at their home and appreciate the kindest courtesy shown us by all the pood people of that community. Mrs. M. A. Cunninpham and Miss Sallie Cunninpham, who have been in Union county for a while, have pone to Chester. Miss Sallie has been teachinp in Union county for the past six ^ years and she has many friends who ?* repret to see her leave. ! T forpot to tell in my last letter about stoppinp at the home of Mr. and ' Mrs. Noah Fowler at Pacolet. I al ways enjoy their kind hospitality. Mr. ( Fowler is a subscriber to The Union Times and was once a Union county ' man; he is always plad to see and hear of his Union county friends. , Rev. J. S. Thrasher has sent a petition to the povernor for a place with ' the Coast Artillery boys of .Tonesville ? as chaplain. The captain, Dr. F. M. , Ellerbe, sipned it and many of the boys and many pood citizens of .Tonesville also sipned it. T will say he is a pood man and will fill the place well. Mr. W. C. Edmonds, who has been relief apent at Spartanburp, is now at the Junction apain. Mr. Edmonds is about the oldest man and is the only one that can hold down the block system. No loafitip at the Junction now; everybody at work. The (ii'ult school has closed its session. All teachers have pone home. * Moxy. > ACIDS IN STOMACH SOUR THE FOOD AND _ CAUSE INDIGESTION "Pape's Diapcpsin" Fixes Sour, Gassy, Upset Stomachs in Five Minutes. Chambers, retired fanner, 55 Gage Avenue, Union, says: "Kidney trouble came on with pain around my left side. At times, my kidneys acted too freely, then again the secretions were retarded. Several boxes of Doan's Kidney Pills made me feel a great deal better. I remained free from kidney trouble for years, but when I caupht a heavy cold on my kidneys and noticed a slight return of the pain, I immediately used Doan's Kidney Pills. Thev soon relieved me." OVER SIX YEARS LATER, Mr. Chambers said: "Whenever I have had a return attack of kidney com_ plaint, Doan's Kidney Pills have ? promptly relieved me." Price 50c, at all dealers.
