It has t}lc been cold and frosty but fair, which the I am glad to see. It has been pood cr0 hog-killing weather and we know of \ some that have been killed. Mr. T. B-e. The correspondents'0131 letters go in on Monday or Tuesday f? to be printed the same week. I wassea in Spartanburg a few days last week, th I attended the W. 0. W. meeting held there. I heard Sovereign Commander di< W. A. Fraser and Sovereign Adviser ne B. W. Jeswell of Omaha speak. They wl maae good addresses, one in the day inl and the other at night. Their talks it were listened to by many Woodmen it and others. The W. O. W. order was <li< organized 26 years ago and now has an a membership of 800,000 and their as- all sets are $28,000,000.00. The proces- di< sion was fine, large numbers of W. sa O. W.'s marching by four through mi Main street with their banners wav- yo ing in the breezes, many beautiful banners, representing the different en camps made a fine show as they went I through the street with Sovereign w< Praser in front. I could tell a great se deal more, but I won't tell it all now. th I will leave something for the next la time. bi Valuable On Tue J4?i # r .1 x h w?\r~ 'ic 3", ? Vhile in Union last week I met Mr. i V. Goings, better known as ck," who lives a few miles from ly's station, and one of our prossive farmers. Vhile we were standing on the ?ets we listened to the music over The Edisonia and Mr. Goincs said would pay our way in if I would something about it in the paper, [ told him I would. The first seen i Mutt and Jeff, then the restau- i t where they were cooking. I saw in this same booth one of Oakland's school exhibits a memorandum which I took note of. The epitaph reads this way: Wasted time died 50 years before Christ; Too much trouble died of old ape; Oh, you lazy fellow buried alive; Not enough time died many years ago. Sueh things I like always to see. I visited the sociological eongres* while in Spartanburg where everything imaginable is seen. I met many people there ,among them were the young girls from the various schools taking notes or headlines writing up what they saw . One of the girls was very nice to tell me their teacher let them spend two hours in there to take dots. They had three tablets written down. I wish I had had time myself to have taken some dots, but there was so much to see and so little time in which to see it, so I had to hurry through. This was worth a great deal and it costs nothing to look and read. While in Union I stopped at the hospitable home of Mr. A. A. llames of Union, where I spent the night and enjoyed myself with him and his kind family. I spent a while with Mr. N. C. Rollins at Mr. It. G. Haney last week Mr. Rollins is glad to see his friends visit him. Says Mrs. Southard, Miss Lipford and Mrs. Godfrey Fowler, all of Jonesville, were to see him sometime ago. He will soon be 79 years old. Says he has very Rood health, but his eyesight is gone; can't see.
