Ll Padgett delightfully entertained the ladies 'embroidery club on last Tuesday evening at her lovely home on Auburn avenue. The large dining room was transformed into a drawfhg room decorated with autumn foliage, where a delicious salad course was served. This social club was recently organized with about 25 members and is affording much pleasure and enjoyment. The meetings are every Tuesday afternoon at the home of some member, taking them alphabetically, where several hours are spent in fancy needle work, crocheting and social conversation. These meetings are looked forward to with eager anticipations and are thoroughly enjoyeu Mrs. Dr. Linder and Mrs. Jacob Cohen of Union were visitors at the meeting on Tuesday last. Prof, and Mrs. F. E. Shuford spent the week-end with relatives at Adamsburg. Dr. E. C. Johnson are sorry to learn she is on , the sick list this week. Rev. B. H. Harvey, pastor cf the Methodist church, leaves one week from next Monday for conference, i This is his first year among us, though during that time he has done , a great work. The church has grown j in leaps and bounds, and he has won i a place in the hearts of all denominations, and it is earnestly hoped that he will be returned to us another year. Though if it is our misfortune to lose him he wil lcarry with him to his new field of labors the love and best wishes of a large circle of friends. Holcombe and Misses Frances Bentley and Rosa Walker spent a day or two with relatives in Columbia last week. Mr. and Mrs. James Mixson and children will leave soon for a motor trip to the lower part of the State, where they will visit relatives for ten days. CORONATION ROBE AND CROWN ON EXHIBITION The coronation robe and crown worn by Miss Louisa Duncan, queen of the Harvest Jubilee, duriner the festivities in Columbia last week, is on exhibition in the show windows at Wilburn Bros. The robe is of royal purple velvet with a handsome border of ermine and the crown is set with jewels.
