TRIBUTE TO THE MEMORY
OF DR. W. O. SOUTHARD
Whereas, it has pleased God to call
from earth to heaven the soul of our
William Oscar Southard,
brother and charter member. Dr.
William Oscar Southard, be it resolved:
1. That we, the Jonesville Baptist
church, bow to the will of the Heavenly
Father;
2. That we have lost a faithful charter
member, whose death has left us
sorely bereaved;
3. That in the death of I)r. Soutliard
the community has lost a neighbor
whose woi th cannot be estimated
in words.
4. That the sick and afflicted have
lost a friend who was unfailing in his
ministrations.
5. That the State has lost a citizen
who stood for the highest ideals in
citizenship.
Re it resolved further:
That these resolutions be ins -ribed
in the minute book of our church, a
copy sent to the bereaved familv and
that they be published in The Union
Times and The Baptist Courier.
William Oscar Southard, born in
Brooklyn, N. Y., August 10, 1851, died
at Jonesville, S. C., March 7, 1916.
For more than 40 years a practieising
physician in and around Jonesville:

NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS
For Fiscal Year, 1916.
The tax books will be opened on the
15th of October and closed on the
31st of December without penalty. After
the 31st of December there will
be added 1 per cent penalty for the
month of January; 1 per cent more
for February, and 5 per cent more
from the 1st to 15th of March. After
the 15th of March executions will be
issued. Will commence to collect commutation
road tax on the 15th day of
October, and close on the 15th day
of March, following:
