KELTON Kelton, July 31.?We are havi some fine growing weather now a the land is in fine working order. 1 farmers were very busy lpst Frid and Saturday. Every mule and ho seemed to be moving. No crops v be laid by clear of grass this y< and many will be left in a bad sha We will have plenty of winter co^ crops next winter; not much neel : clover and other seeds this fall, hear that some farmers in Cherol county a"re fencing in some of th crops and will pasture them. It mi; be wise for some of the farmers our community to do the same for will not pay to work them out. News is scarce now. Mr. W. F. Farr had the misfortv to lose his cotton house by fire yest day. I have not learned what v be his loss. The county Baptist Sunday sch convention was held with the Mt. J church Sunday. I learn that a lai congregation was present. I was 1 present as the third quarterly c< ference of the Kelton circuit c? vened at Flat Rock church that d; I was sorry I could not be there fo missed a good dinner. The third quarterly conference the Kelton charge was held at F Kock church Saturday and Sund The congregations were small b< days. On Saturday the farmers w< so busy they did not quit work a on Sunday the Sunday school conv< tion at Mt. Joy drew most of the p pie. The presiding elder and R Mr. Stackhouse were present with 1 pa'stor and the reports from the 6 ferent churches were far better tl usual for this season of the year. I Stackhouse preached two able s mons at the church and then on Si day afternoon preached another f one to the people at Elford Gr< school house. The new school hoi was filled to overflowing with att tive hearers. This school house located in a fine farming: section our county and thickly settled by g< white farmers who know how work and don't mind making: th living by the sweat of their brow, they needed was a lea'der and tl surely must have him and all the p pie work together and they are bot to succeed in Sunday school wo I did not know there were so ma good looking people living so near i especially the girls. Of course tl always draw my attention. If it v not for the good women this wo would not be worth living in. Rev. Mr. Thrasher has a fine Si day school, because he has the 11 teria'l to make it of. Mrs. Thomas Vinson of our co munity is very sick now. Her frier hope for her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Johnson Union visited their sister, Mrs. Th Vinson Saturday. Will and Bass Foster of Sparti burg were visitors i'n our commun Saturday and Sunday. Messrs. Foster and Lee Kelly Jonesville visited the family of B J. E. Kelly and attended services Si day at Flat Rock. G. T. G ELFORD GROVE. Elford Grove, July 31.?We ha had a few more pretty da"ys and 1 farmers are busy finishing up th work. Sunday was a fine day and th< was a large crowd out at Sund scnooi. Kev. Mr. c opeiand and K Mr. Stackhouse were present and 5 Stackhouse preached in Mr. Co] land's place, which was enjoyed everyone. He preached a fine serm< Mr. Thrasher made a talk on the Si day school lesson, which was fine. It Wagnon from Union was also prese Mr. Hen Home and little son .1 of Union were visitors in this co muni'ty Sunday and attended Sund school. Mr. George Gault, Mr. Klzie C mer and children were present. A Mr. Cloud Comer of Kelton. Mr. Ed. The crops look very good, r;-*e ,but there is but little fruit on it. Botri!? torn land corn is no good, neither up?ar land very much good. Mr. Horace pe. Brown had 'JO acres of bottom land zej- corn washed away during that heavy for rain over at the Stein City. Mr. Brown j bought $'.'10,000 worth of guano this cce year. That is a' great loss for Mr. eij. Brown, although he is a wealthy man. He owns several hundred acres of jn land in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties. I noticed in yesterday's paper where a young Mexican is learning to ,ne like United States soldiers. The picer ture shows where the Americans are ^11 making a pet of a Mexican lad. If all the Mexicans would learn to like ool Americans and stop fighting each foy other maybe it would not deteriorate. ?C I also noticed in the paper where flour was $100 a sack, coffee and sugar 5n_ $4 and $5 per pound, and children go3n_ ing along would fall dead for want of ay. THE LE6AGY OF A I WONDERFUL WOMAN Her Death Mourned by Thousands Whom She Helped. Her Remedy the Same Today. Chapter 7.?This is a Long Chapter, But Read It Ael. We do not hesitate to recommend our Remedy in cases of eczema, inflammatory and muscular rheumatism, erysipelas, catarrh, eruptions and impure, impoverished or poisoned blood, or that can be reached by building up and giving tone to the system. We have never seen a sore of any kind (save an advanced cancer) that our Remedy would not cure if a faithful administration of the Wash was used in connection with the Bitters, and we have known it to cure several cases that were pronounced by the physicians to be cancerous in their nature. We have never known a trouble to return after having been cured by our Remedy. The cures are all made by purifying the blood and building up the system, hence the cure is permanent. We hav*. never known it to fail to cure a case of indigestion, dyspepsia, stomach trouble, or nervous prostration, if we can get the parties to use it as we advise. A good full dose will give instant. relipf in nf ? - - ? v.??. wi VUI1V) U11VI its continued use will cure the worst case of chronic bilious colic.
