The governor by specal invitation of Mr. George Brown lined at the hotel and after dinner le motored to Pacolet, where he was o address the graduating class of he school there. Saturday several men from Jones'ille motored over to Charlotte to ee President Wilson and hear him peaK. They made the run, 85 miles, n four hours. They spent about ten lours in Charlotte and returned by 0 o'clock in the evening. My grandather Harris used to do business in 'harlotte before there were any railoads in this country and it took lim a whole week to make the round rip. Capt. F. M. Farr, Messrs. J. Cohen, Vill Sartor and B. Alston of Union ame up Friday to hear Governor fanning speak. Rev. and Mrs. Copeland of Kelton ame to hear Governor Manning Friay. The Ladies' Missionary society of bis section held a meeting in the .aptist church here Sunday. Several iteresting papers were read before be meeting.
