GODSHAIX, M?r. j' JONES VILLE Jonesvillo, Ap|ril ?While there has heen many fires over the country Jonesvillo has escaped so far, hut last Saturday evening the flames devoured a dwelling near the corporate limits just north of the town in a colored settlement. The house belonged to Johnson Smith and was occupied by his married daughter, who had been ironing until evening. She shut up the house and went visiting and not long afterwards the house was in I flames and was a total loss. There ' was some insurance on the house, but I none on the furniture. Capt. R. W. Scott, our very ei | ficient postmaster, has moved the , nostoffice into new quarters. The office is neat and convenient. It is on the corner of Church street and ! Hames avenue and also on Pacolet street. There is a lobby in front from which all the lock hoxes as well as all the rest of the boxes and general delivery are accessible at all times until !> o'clock at night. All this is much better and more convenient than before the ofHce was moved. Then there is a private office in the back of the office for the postmaster and also a large space well arranged for the rural carriers and parcels post packages with a window through which to deliver them, and also a? money order window, all accessible to the lobby.
